Paso Robles Wanderings

Santa Barbara Morning

Before leaving on my way home (via a stop in Paso Robles this evening), I took a short walk on the beach, and it was a lovely morning, as you can see.

You can see a bit of a fog bank hanging over the water in the distance

Comet Hunting in Santa Barbara

Time for some comet hunting this evening. Comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS is still viewable in the sky after sunset. In the first photo, it’s halfway up and to the right side. Got a decent capture in the second photo.

You can see it about halfway up and towards the right side
With a little enhancement, this turned out to be a decent capture

Sunday Ride in Santa Barbara

I stayed an extra day, and joined Lyresa and Tom on a nice “recovery” ride. Recovery meaning, doing a climb up San Marcos Rd. The views were nice though. We continued on Mountain Drive, which we did yesterday, but today we went in the opposite direction. Pictures are below the fold.

Evening Stroll

I did a quick little walk this evening after the ride, and enjoyed some nice sights along the ocean.

Another lousy day at the beach. Don’t know how I can stand it.

Santa Barbara Century

I returned to Santa Barbara to do their world famous century ride, which I did for the first time last year. I was accompanied by Lyresa and Tom, my usual partners in crime for such rides away from home. This year we got to go up Gibraltar, which was a tough climb, especially with a bit of heat. The descent on Painted Cave was quite rough, with both Tom and Lyresa losing stuff off their bike or pockets due to all the bouncing. Still, overall it was a good ride, with great weather, and fun roads. Photos from the ride are below the fold.

Morning Ride

I don’t usually post about morning rides, but it was a nice morning and I was able to get some nice photos while I was out.

Here comes the sun!

Tour de Fuzz

I drove up to Santa Rosa yesterday to take part in the Tour de Fuzz bike ride, in support of local police, firefighters, and other first responders. It was a nice pleasant day to be out on the bike.
