I didn’t think I’d get a lot of pictures today as it was raining for much of the day, and you’d have to imagine a Ken Burns documentary style montage where the narrator would be reading a letter from the Civil War.

Unfortunately, you’ll have to look at the ones I took instead. We didn’t actually start in the rain, but had occasional rain showers throughout the ride.

Today brought us to the most northerly point in Newtonmore in the Highlands. From now on it’s all downhill. Definitely, the scenery is stark and beautiful in its own way.

Tomorrow we head for Fort William and then a rest day. Hopefully my stuff is dry by then.

The Perth Bridge over the River Tay, opened in 1771
A rather satisfied bird with a fish, which seems to be a theme, as a later picture shows
I finally managed to get a picture of a pheasant, looking quite pretty
Cute sign along the way
We were bundled up against the rain today
Wet roads mean green hills, and a wet rider
See, birds with fish is a thing
The layered rocks in the River Garry look quite interesting
The windswept highlands on a rainy day
Yup, we’re in the Highlands
