We headed to Edinburgh today, for a two day stay, including a well-earned rest day tomorrow. We still had to ride there today.

The morning promised sun, but I’m learning about Scottish weather after yesterday started the same way, and we got some rain. Sure enough, the clouds rolled in and we rode through a brief shower.

However, we still got plenty of fine weather and the route was nice, taking us along the River Tweed, and then a couple of easy climbs before we hit the suburbs of Edinburgh.

The city riding was okay as it was Sunday. I got in early and was able to clean up and walk around a little bit.

As noted, tomorrow is a rest day so I’ll be doing some more exploring depending on the weather.

I think my facial expression says all you need to know
The Dryburgh Abbey near St Boswells
The views were exceptionally good this morning
The Drygrange Old Bridge over the River Tweed
Typical Scottish scenery with green fields and sheep
Just your average green rolling Scottish hills
Just leaving the lunch spot, which was along a creek
The golf course at Innerleithen
Heading up the first of two climbs, where Ole, one of the riders on the tour, is capturing some of the scenery
I captured my own version after I passed Ole
At the top of the last climb, I got to see the destination for the day in the distance
I walked over to the Edinburgh Castle after my ride
This old gothic building is The Hub now, which is one venue for the Edinburgh International Festival
Looking down the Royal Mile, which was crowded with lots of people out enjoying the day
Tron Kirk, an old church that has been repurposed for other uses
I saw these cute fellas at another shop. They may have to come home with me.
At 10pm in Edinburgh, the sun is still setting
