A long and unusual day, in that we got up early to catch the ferry from the Isle of Man back to England. And then, the plan was to get on our bikes and ride to our hotel in Windermere.

As plans go, it went pretty much like that, although there was a lot time spent waiting for the ferry to load and then make its way to Heysham.

After we disembarked, we had a quick lunch and then we were on our way. The path along Morecambe Bay is quite pretty, and there were lots of people out enjoying the day.

Soon we were heading up to Lake Country, although I didn’t see the water of Windermere until I got cleaned up and wandered the grounds at the hotel.

Tomorrow is a longer day on the bike than today, with an option to see more of the Lake Country.

Waiting to get on the ferry. It was quite the large boat.
