This was our one day riding on the Isle of Man. We ferried into Douglas, the main town, last night, and got the final route then. We had to make many adjustments due to the motorbike race, which would cause road closures in many spots that we wanted to see.

The final route overlapped only a small portion of the race course, and we were clear to ride our route as long as we were through that section by late morning.

The route featured two climbs, and the first was quite steep for about 1.5kms. The second was less steep and there was a section where I got a nice tailwind assist.

The winds were quite strong, especially on the west end of the island, where we had lunch. Otherwise the day was pleasant and sunny, and the traffic was fine for the most part, considering that there were hundreds of motorcycles on the island.

Tomorrow is an early ferry back to England, and then a short ride to Windermere in the Lake District.
