It was a rest day today, but we had to catch the ferry to the Isle of Man in the late afternoon and that ferry is on the Liverpool side of the Mersey. Also, we had to make sure our bikes were with us. The options were a train ride or a ferry ride across the Mersey. I chose the Mersey ferry, so I rode mine to that dock.

The ferry I took did a bit of sightseeing before we reached the Liverpool docks. Once onshore, I had lots of time to kill and so I rode to Anfield, home of Liverpool FC, where I purchased expensive licensed merchandise.

After hanging out at Anfield, I did a ride down to Penny Lane. As a street, it is underwhelming. As a famous Beatles song, it’s outstanding.

By that point, it was time to get to the Isle of Man ferry. It’s a big ship, carrying cars, and lots of motorcycles. Motorbiking around the Isle of Man is quite the popular activity, so we’ll be sharing the road with them on our ride tomorrow. The ferry ride was smooth and it took us just under 3 hours to reach the port in Douglas. After cycling to our hotel, we settled in for some rest. Quite the busy day for a rest day.
