Morning hike that started foggy but turned sunny and pleasant. Wandered into a fault zone, San Andreas to be exact. No shaking was noticed.
It was quite foggy to startThe fog cleared away as I climbed higherEven so, there was still quite a bit of fog down lowFoggy in the valley, but Mount Diablo was able to rise above itThe haze allowed me to see the contours of the hillsideEither this is shoddy workmanship, or the 1906 earthquake displaced the ground hereThere were numerous markers, showing the location of the fault along the trail. I noticed no shaking, although the fault probably was still on holidays. More fault markers, and a numbered post, each of which is referred to in the San Andreas Fault Trail Map interpretive brochure. There were some nice mushrooms along this section of the trailA classic mushroom headYellow probably means danger. I did not test that theory. Here I am basking in the sun after a fun and enjoyable hike
