Monday Hike: Los Trancos & Montebello

Morning hike that started foggy but turned sunny and pleasant. Wandered into a fault zone, San Andreas to be exact. No shaking was noticed.

It was quite foggy to start
The fog cleared away as I climbed higher
Even so, there was still quite a bit of fog down low
Foggy in the valley, but Mount Diablo was able to rise above it
The haze allowed me to see the contours of the hillside
Either this is shoddy workmanship, or the 1906 earthquake displaced the ground here
There were numerous markers, showing the location of the fault along the trail. I noticed no shaking, although the fault probably was still on holidays.
More fault markers, and a numbered post, each of which is referred to in the San Andreas Fault Trail Map interpretive brochure.
There were some nice mushrooms along this section of the trail
A classic mushroom head
Yellow probably means danger. I did not test that theory.
Here I am basking in the sun after a fun and enjoyable hike
