I arrived at Monument Valley the evening before, and got to spend the night in a cute little cabin at Goulding’s, with a bit of a view of the monuments to the east, and backed by a large mesa to the west. I got a hike in this morning to see the sunrise over the monuments, then continued my drive east to get the classic photo at the “Forrest Gump” spot.
