I continued my journey east to Durango. The stops along the way were Mexican Hat, Valley of the Gods, and Mesa Verde.
Mexican Hat
Mexican Hat is a town in Utah, but is also a unique rock formation that looks a bit like a Mexican hat. I decided to stop and get a closeup photo of it, since I had only really seen it from a distance up until then.

Valley of the Gods
I took a side trip into the Valley of the Gods, which I’d never seen before. This is a back-country area where the road is not paved. I was able to manage in the 508 van and get some decent photos. I did see some cyclists making their way along the gravel road, and I was able to assist them with my floor pump.

Mesa Verde
My final stop today was a short trip into Mesa Verde, the location of the famous cliff dwellings. I will have to return someday to get a better look and take more time in doing so.
