Livermore to Mt Hamilton
As part of her 508 training, Tina rode from Livermore to Mt. Hamilton on Saturday, climbing the steep backside road. Joining her was her friend Gabrielle, and I came along to document the journey. The pictures are on the picture album page, or go directly to the pictures here.
I also took a video of Tina and Gabrielle climbing the backside, and I’ve embedded the video below.

Nice Rack
A rather large buck was in our backyard this evening. He decided that our newly exposed dirt area was a perfect spot on which to relax.
Here’s a close up. His rack is a thing of beauty.

Dr Seuss and Guest
This is our brugmansia, Dr Seuss, which we planted last year. He’s come into full bloom and the flowers are very nice.
We just added two more Brugmansias, and they go by the name ‘Miami Orange’. So in honor of Miami Vice, we’ve named them Crockett and Tubbs. Here’s a picture of Dr. Suess with Crockett in the background.

Fewer Cans of Jyoti
As you may recall from a previous post, I measured the weight of our cat, Jyoti, and compared it to a can of Indian food, named, appropriately, Jyoti. Since that disgraceful admission of the sheer overweightness of our fat feline, Jyoti has been put on a strict diet. (Not a diet of Jyoti-branded foods, for sure.) Since then he’s lost quite a bit of weight, requiring an update of the picture that shows his equivalent weight in cans of Jyoti. Compare this picture,
with the picture of his previous weight.
Quite an improvement. I’ll actually have to take a current picture of him and do a real comparison of Jyoti the cat, rather than of Jyoti the cans.
